Ms. Sharon Kisire, General Manager of Kenya Pipeline Company LimitedMs. Sharon Kisire, General Manager of Kenya Pipeline Company LimitedThe public lecture focusses on the gender question in light of the prevailing socio-legal environment in the Kenyan system as read together with recent happenings exposing women professionals and students. The gender question remains contested with the Constitutional two-thirds gender rule yet to obtain full implementation in the Kenyan political and public institutions; and the continued debate on the role of the woman in society especially if read with a feminist theoretical understanding.

The proper contextualisation of feminism, its meaning and application in Kenya continues to elude our society. This is the debate that Ms. Sharon Kisire shall engage bringing her personal professional and academic experiences in contextualising the true feminist in modern Kenya. She boasts over 30 years professional experience. She is a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology, and a Master of Arts Degree in Criminology from Kenyatta University; a Diploma in Human Resources from the Kenya Institute of Management; and a Certified Secretary.

All are invited!
