Assistant Webmaster Position

Reporting to the University Webmaster

Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for coordinating and directing all website related activities in the University.
  2. Ensuring that the web servers, hardware and software are operating correctly and accurately.
  3. Responsible for generating and revising web pages.
  4. Replying to user comments and examining and analyzing website traffic.
  5. Create and modify appearance and setting up website navigations.
  6. Periodically updating contents on the web pages.
  7. Coordinating the design, development , deployment and maintenance of online presence
  8. Developing and enforcing metadata to aid in indexing and search ability.
  9. Designing and implementing security architecture for web applications.
  10. Creatively develop interactive content for online and print media.
  11. Creating advertisement media such as product catalogues, in-house and external online advertisements in line with business objectives.
  12. Using the internet to build customer loyalty through online engagement programs.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should:

  1. Have a Bachelors degree in ICT or its equivalent from recognized Institution.
  2. Have a deep and broad understanding of the web and website governance issues such as online strategy, systems and software administration, hosting, online marketing & communications, customer service, web content development workflows and website graphic design.
  3. Be conversant with scripting languages such as JavaScript.
  4. Know how to configure web servers such as Apache HTTP servers
  5. Have at least three (3) years’ work experience in a busy ICT environment
  6. Have experience in graphics design with knowledge in Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Corel Draw and any other graphics design software.
  7. Be able to design creative, original and fun graphics that keep up with quality standards.

ADM011 Customer Service Officers

This position reports to the Customer Service Manager and will be responsible for responding to a variety of customer requests and inquiries via the telephone or in person over the counter. Providing and promoting a professional, high quality, front line customer focused service.
Principal Responsibilities are:

  1. Dealing with all customer enquiries in relation to the University's services and resolving the same at first point of contact.
  2. Ensuring that all calls to the Campus are dealt with promptly, in line with the University's standards and targets.
  3. Having full knowledge and ability to access all services to help meet the individual needs of our customers.
  4. Liaising with colleagues in relevant offices so as to resolve enquiries appropriately.
  5. Ensuring that customers are advised of alternative communication methods.
  6. Following current procedures when transferring a call to another member of staff for specialist advice.
  7. Taking ownership and responsibility for all enquiries presented to the Campus
  8. Dealing with all calls and enquiries received within the Campus in line with the University's policies and procedures.
  9. Performing any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor.

Desired Qualifications.

  1. Have a Bachelor's degree in any of the following disciplines: Social Sciences, Management, Business Administration, Office Administration or a related degree qualification from a recognized institution;
  2. Have served in the position of Customer Care Officer for a minimum period of two (2) years or in a comparable and relevant position in the public or private sector;
  3. Have demonstrated professional competence and ability in planning and administration of Customer Care functions;
  4. Be proficient in the relevant computer applications;
  5. Have superior communication skills.
  6. A team player with experience in dealing with the public.

ELIGIBILITY

PROFESSOR

  1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from accredited and recognized university
  2. At least three (3) years teaching experience as the associate professor or equivalent and research experience
  3. A minimum of sixty (60) equivalent publication points since attaining associate professorship or equivalent of which at least (40) should be from referred scholarly journal
  4. Supervised a minimum of five (5) postgraduate students to completion at least two at doctoral level
  5. Registered with the relevant professional body
  6. Attract research or development funds as an associate professor or equivalent.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

  1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from accredited and recognized university
  2. At least three (3) years teaching experience as senior lecturer or senior researcher/industry experience or equivalent
  3. A minimum of forty eight (48) equivalent publication points as senior lecturer or equivalent, of which at least thirty two (32) should be from referred scholarly journal
  4. Supervised a minimum of four (4) postgraduate students to completion at least one at doctoral level
  5. Attracted research or development funds as senior lecturer/senior research fellow.
  6. Registered with the relevant professional body

SENIOR LECTURER

  1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification (or a master’s degree qualification in special cases) in the relevant field from accredited and recognized university
  2. At least three (3) years teaching experience as lecturer or six (6) years research/industry experience
  3. A minimum of thirty two (32) equivalent publication points as a lecturer or equivalent, of which at least twenty four (24) should be from referred scholarly journal
  4. Supervised a minimum of three (3) postgraduate students to completion as a lecturer or equivalent
  5. Registered with the relevant professional body

LECTURERS

  1. An earned PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant field from accredited and recognized university
  2. Registered with the relevant professional body 

OR

  1. A master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university

ADM010 Biomedical Engineer

This position reports to the Chief Technologist and will be to oversee usage, maintenance, installation, calibration and repairs of all laboratory equipment & services in the university
Principal Responsibilities are:

  1. Carrying out routine planned preventive maintenance of the laboratory equipment for optimum use of equipment.
  2. Trouble shooting, diagnosing and correcting faults in laboratory equipment
  3. Creating and implementing preventive maintenance programs
  4. Establishing and maintaining a safe work environment
  5. Executing tasks according to university guides and procedures
  6. Conforming to all safety rules and regulations
  7. Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Desired Qualifications.

  1. Must be a holder of either Higher Diploma or Diploma in Medical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (Electronics /Instrumentation) or related field from a recognized institution.
  2. Diploma in Instrumentation will be an added advantage.
  3. Holders of Diploma in Medical Engineering Must be registered with AMEK( Association Of Medical Engineering Of Kenya)
  4. At least three years (3) hands on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of a wide variety and modern laboratory equipment in a busy teaching or research laboratory.
  5. Ability to diagnose technical faults and carry out repairs
  6. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  7. Ability to plan and organize work
