MKU, Kiambu County & Caritas Tripartite partnership
Mount Kenya University is on its way to signing a partnership deal with Kiambu County Government and Caritas Nairobi following a number of consultative meetings including a courtesy call to Prof. Stanley Waudo, MKU Vice-Chancellor. H.E. Ferdinand Waititu, Kiambu county governor met with representatives from MKU and Caritas at his Thika Sub-County office on Friday the 18th May ,2018.
MKU has joined the Caritas Nairobi in their Dairy Farming Project at Kiambu County. Caritas is a global confederation of Catholic Institutions working in humanitarian emergencies and towards the betterment and fullness of life for the marginalized in the community. The Dairy farming project is funded by the County Government and Caritas Nairobi among other donors.
MKU will use the project for field attachment for the students pursuing animal health and production and also offer other technical input as a build - up to a parallel joint research proposal development for funding. MKU department of Animal Health and Production offers a range of programmes from certificate to PhD in Animal Health and Production, Animal Science, Agriculture & Rural Development and Immunology.
