MKU Research and Innovation Week 2023
Mount Kenya University (MKU) wish to announce a call for Research and Innovation Week -2023, which is in pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 12. The purpose of the call is to provide Kenyan citizens with a platform to showcase their inventive ideas that have the potential to yield pioneering products and services (spin-offs and new ventures). This is in addition to promoting stronger ties with industry through the service-learning (SL) initiative.
In addition, industry participants will get opportunity to exhibit/showcase to the members of the public their products & services. It will also showcase research output from scientific researchers which may be of interest to industry.

- To Innovators:
1. Opportunity to pitch to a carefully selected group of companies and investors.
2. Opportunity to be among the 50 selected innovations to be incubated for 6 months at Mount Kenya Innovation and Incubation Centre.
3. Top 3 innovators will be awarded. - To Researchers:
1. Opportunity to disseminate research outputs and initiate collaborations with industry players.
2. Top 3 Researchers will be awarded. - To Industry:
1. Opportunity to obtain insights to innovative product and service processes.
2. Opportunity to showcase their innovative products & services to the community.
MKU Research and Innovation Challenge 2023
For the INNOVATORS,
a panel of expert judges will review each idea and determine the winners based on Impact, Sustainability, creativity, scalability, versatility, uniqueness and the possibility for making a positive contribution to the local and global community. For RESEARCHERS,
A panel of experts will review each submitted poster to examine the novelty of idea/process/concept. Interested researchers should submit their application online through the email: research@mku.ac.ke . The closing date for all application is 6th October 2023 at 11:59pm (EAT)
