It is a new dawn as School of Law takes the next step to continue equipping legal practitioners with knowledge, skills and values. The school has launched Master of Laws programme (LLM) with the next intake scheduled in January 2024.  MKU Parklands law campus alumni attended the event where they also launched the” Law Alumni Association”, which is set to bring all alumni together to forge a positive engagement in career, education and in giving back to the community.

The Alumni Luncheon was themed “The Journey Beyond the Alma Mater”.The school opened its doors to the first batch of 29 degree students in September 2009. To date more than 2000 students have graduated, says, Dr. Mutubwa Wilfred, the Dean, school of Law. Register to join the alumni association

Hon. Silvanus Osoro, MKU Parklands Law Campus Alumnus, Member of Parliament and Majority Party Whip who was the chief guest graced the launch.  Hon Kiraitu Murungi delivered a keynote address themed “Happiness and The Law: The Nexus”. The event was also attended by MKU fraternity led by Dr. Vincent Gaitho, Pro-chancellor, members of University Council ,Mr. Erick Theuri, President, Law Society of Kenya, Hon. Lady Justice Hellen Omondi, Judge of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Patrick Kiage, Court of Appeal, Theresah Nyangena and T Ng’ang’a , Lawyer & MKU Council Member.

Mount Kenya University Law Journal- 3rd Edition

The campus continues to mark academic milestones by graduating law practitioners for Kenya and the world at large. The School of Law has dedicated tremendous efforts in disseminating research finding through publication. The School launched a peer-reviewed “Mount Kenya University Law Journal- 3rd edition”. The event was organised by an organizing committee led by Judy Ngayu who serves as the Associate dean of students, Parklands Law campus. Download the journal here

Mount Kenya University School of Law is led by the Dean Dr. Mutubwa Wilfred and Ms. Nelly Wamaitha who is the Director Parklands Law Campus.

During the event, the University celebrated students’ achievements including the best awards in moot court competitions in Rwanda that gave the mooting students an opportunity to participate in Moscow moot court competition. In sports, the school produced the best female at the Eastern Africa Regional Karate Champion held in Uganda.

Mount Kenya University continues to be at the forefront in training legal practitioners through offering diploma in law, bachelor laws (LLB) and master of Laws (LLM). The diploma and bachelors degree intakes are in January, May and September and its offered by either day or evening study mode. Master of Laws (LLM) programmes are offered and blended distance and online for the LLM.
