A delegation of four staff members from Mount Kenya University staff led by the dean school of social sciences Dr. Serah Kimaru have visited University of Ss. Cyril Methodius in Trnava (Slovakia) on a staff exchange program.

Mount Kenya University and University of Ss. Cyril Methodius in Trnava (Slovakia) won Erasmus Plus mobility grant (Ref: AK 171) for both faculty members and postgraduate students. The project will cover twenty mobilities between the two institutions for a period of 2 years (2023-2025).

MKU team led by Dr. Serah Kimaru (Dean, School of Social Sciences), Dr. Judy Mwangi (Lecturer, School of Social Sciences) and Mr. Bonface Joel Malala (Head, Grants Office) visited UCM from 25th September to 8th October 2023 for the first faculty exchange program.

The team discussed possible areas of research collaborations between MKU and UCM.

The aim of the visit was to plan on implementation of the Erasmus Plus mobility project. During their visit to UCM, the MKU team held meetings with UCM faculties/departments members  including; Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Erasmus Plus Grant coordination department.
