Mission: Advance agriculture using multidisciplinary approaches to generate, teach, disseminate and apply knowledge in animal biology & management of domestic animals to benefit society
Vision: Serving animal agriculture through innovative research, development of successful graduates, and engagement of stakeholders to integrate and apply relevant knowledge
Minimum Entry Requirement
KCSE mean grade of C+ with at least C+ in Biology/Biological sciences and any one of the following Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics/Physical Sciences or C plain in KCSE and a t least a credit pass in diploma in Animal Health/Production/Agriculture/Medical Laboratory Technology from an institution recognized by The University Senate.

The Department of Animal Health and Production at Mount Kenya University offers education and research for the safe and economical production of animal food without compromising the environment or endangering the health and well being and farm animals and farm communities. The department provides educational leadership through high-quality courses, research and extension programs to enhance human capital and ensure farming communities benefit from these.
We have a strong tradition of training outstanding students in animal health, animal production and related fields, and welcome prospective students who are interested in our programs and want to contribute to our mission. Our graduates have excelled well both in private and public sectors
