MKU ranks among top universities in East Africa

Mount Kenya University has been ranked among the top universities in East Africa. The latest survey by Webometrics ranks MKU number 12 out of 65 universities and colleges in Kenya. The university improved eight places from the position 20 it was last year. MKU has improved its scores in openness, excellence, presence and impact. “The original aim of the Ranking was to promote Web publication,” says Webometrics. “Supporting Open Access initiatives, electronic access to scientific publications and to other academic material are our primary targets.” MKU is ranked ahead of United States International University, Africa Nazerene University and St Pauls University. University of Nairobi is the top ranked in Kenya. MKU has campuses throughout Kenya, and in Kigali, Rwanda and Hargeisa, SomaliLand. It has distinguished itself as a pioneer in the provision of affordable, quality higher education.
