Computing students get training on mobile applications

Mr Eric from Zalego gives a talk to computing students during the training

The computing students from both Main Campus and Nairobi Campus have benefitted from a three days training on mobile applications. The training was conducted by Zalego in partnership with Samsung.

During the opening of the training Mr. Kamau the Head of Department, Information Technology thanked the University management for their effort to ensure the students acquired the best and latest technologies. “This training is meant to equip you with the latest technologies in development of mobile applications. I challenge you to make use of the trainers and get most out of them within the next three days. The University is committed to giving the best to its students and we thank the management for that”, he told the students.

He noted that most of the high-end phone applications currently in the market have been done by students who had the zeal and creativity and picked up the challenge to develop such applications.
Kenya has over the last few years been on a booming business of the phone applications and especially the Mobile Money transfer services. Mobile banking has also taken up the market by surprise and simplified banking. With such training students are expected to be creative and come up with new applications.
