THEME: SHARING A HEART OF COMPASSION.

Mount Kenya University Dental Students Association members through their leadership held a charity outreach at Otto Hoffman Children`s Home as they marked the World Oral Health Day on 19th March 2023 as day earlier because of the school program.

Forty students led by Patron, Kangogo Joseph attended had a chance to interact, engage, motivate and give a talk on oral hygiene to about 70 members of the children`s home. Demonstration of the right teeth brushing technique was done by Ann Kaimenyi. The association also donated dry foodstuff, toiletries, clothes, shoes, mattresses and other accessories.

“Sharing this moment with you children reminds me of my childhood and the possibility of making it in life despite your current situation” Mr. Joseph Kangogo- MKUDESA patron.

The activities that were undertaken included song presentation, playing football, splitting of cooking logs and team building activities, which brought joy to the kids. “Seeing the children smile because of our visit was so touching bringing joy and peace to my heart. Being in such a joyous environment had a medicinal effect” Aliya Ali- MKUDESA Chairperson.

“We really enjoyed the company and the vibe of the children, seeing smiles all over their faces demonstrated a holistic impact to the society by MKUDESA, reflecting our slogan-YOUR SMILE OUR PASSSION. We look forward to continue putting smiles on faces of other people through outreach programs such as this.” Valerian Orege- MKUDESA Vice Chairperson.
