This week, Mount Kenya University(MKU) joined the global community in celebrating Customer Service Week, a moment dedicated to recognizing the people who make service excellence possible, our students, staff, partners and the wider MKU family.

The week at MKU was marked by genuine appreciation and positive energy across the university. Different departments took time to recognize the people who keep things running every day, from those who teach and support our students to those who work quietly behind the scenes. It was a chance for everyone to pause, connect, and reflect on the importance of good service and teamwork. More than just a celebration, the week reminded us that every act of service, no matter how small, contributes to the bigger picture of what makes MKU a learning institution with a global outlook.

Day 1 & 2: Celebrating Our Students and Staff

The celebrations kicked off on Monday, with heartfelt appreciation extended to our students, administrative staff, and the transport department. These groups form the backbone of MKU’s daily operations, from ensuring seamless student experiences to keeping the university moving efficiently.

On Wednesday, the focus turned to our Academic division staff, Deans of Schools, and Heads of Departments, whose dedication keeps our academic standards high and our learning environment thriving. Special recognition was also given to our DIBEL students, who have not only excelled in their studies but have also played an outstanding role in promoting MKU by recommending and bringing in new students.Their contribution exemplifies what it means to be both ambassadors and beneficiaries of the MKU experience.

Day 3: Appreciating Everyone Who Makes MKU Exceptional

The celebrations culminated today with a university-wide appreciation event recognizing our staff, students and management, the collective heartbeat of MKU. It was a fitting way to crown the Customer Service Week, bringing together the entire community in a spirit of gratitude and unity.

As part of today’s activities, MKU also visited Kahawa Baptist Academy in Kahawa West to celebrate our students who serve as teachers at the institution. These students have been instrumental in supporting MKU’s marketing efforts and continue to represent the university’s values of service, excellence, and community engagement.

A Note of Appreciation

As we wrap up this year’s Customer Service Week, we extend our sincere gratitude to all our students, parents, staff, partners, stakeholders, alumni, and friends who make MKU what it is today.

To our dedicated staff members, thank you for your unwavering commitment, professionalism, and warmth. To our students, thank you for your trust, enthusiasm, and for being our greatest ambassadors.

At Mount Kenya University, service excellence is more than a goal, it’s our culture.

Here’s to every person who makes MKU not just a place to learn, but a place to belong.
