Greetings, my fellow CHRP-K students and future HR leaders, My name is CHRP, Bridget Martha, a proud
alumni of Mount Kenya University year 2023 and recently Awarded as the HR Best Trend Setter of the Year 2025. I feel privileged to share a message from my heart.
Many of us join the CHRP-K journey with one goal in mind: to gain the certification and use it as a stepping stone for promotions or career advancement. While those goals are valid, I want to challenge you today to look beyond the papers and the titles.
Yes, you will earn the Certification. But the question is: Are you equal to the task? CHRP-K is not just a qualification; it is a responsibility. Everything you learn from labour laws, HR analytics, employee relations,
performance management, organizational development among others must be practiced, lived, and applied. Do not let your knowledge remain in books. Exercise what you learn. Apply it in your institutions, your workplaces, and your communities. That is how careers are built, and that is how change is created.
I also want to appreciate the exceptional lecturers in this university, lecturers who went beyond teaching to mentor, follow up, and share real-life HR experiences. They made a course many people consider difficult feel exciting, doable, and even fun. Their passion for HR is the reason many of us, myself included, found it easy to apply CHRP-K principles in our everyday work.
Take advantage of that. Ask questions. Seek mentorship. Engage deeply with your classes and practicals. Your certification will open doors, but your competence, integrity, and application of what you learn is what will keep those doors open. As someone who has walked this journey, I assure you: You can excel. You can lead. You can be the next award-winning HR professional.
Keep pushing. Keep learning. Keep practicing, Put God first before everything.
Thank you, and all the best in your CHRP-K journey, God bless.
