MKU has strengthened its commitment to community empowerment by donating 10 computers to Kigumo Secondary School, a mixed day school for boys and girls located in Githunguri, Kiambu County.
The school, which serves a growing student population and boasts a strong alumni network, offers Computer Studies and the Science pathway at the senior school level. These programs continue to transform the lives of students in the region by equipping them with relevant academic and practical skills.
Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community outreach initiatives, MKU facilitated the donation and installation of the computers in the school’s laboratory, significantly enhancing the institution’s ICT infrastructure.
In today’s digital era, the University recognizes the critical importance of equipping young people with ICT skills. The newly installed computers will provide students with greater access to digital learning tools, enabling them to build essential competencies in technology and better prepare for their national examinations and future careers.
Speaking during the handover, Prof. Peter Wanderi, Principal, Corporate Affairs, reaffirmed the University’s commitment to supporting communities:
