Mount Kenya University (MKU) successfully concluded the Mount Kenya University Students Association (MKUSA) 2026 elections and the subsequent Induction Conference for newly elected student leaders that took place in Mombasa from 2nd to 7th March, 2026 marking an important milestone in the university’s student governance calendar.

This year’s transition process was guided by the theme “One University, One Front,” reflecting MKU’s commitment to unity, transparency, and inclusive student leadership across all campuses and learning modes.

The MKUSA 2026 election exercise was conducted through the university’s standardized student governance framework to ensure a free, fair, and transparent democratic process.

Thousands of students across MKU campuses participated in the elections by casting their votes through the secure digital voting platform, demonstrating the university’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to strengthen governance and enhance participation.

The MKU Electoral Commission commended students for maintaining high levels of discipline, civic responsibility and democratic engagement throughout the voting period.
