Mount Kenya University (MKU) continues to expand its international presence through a successful academic visit to Pärnu College, University of Tartu in Estonia, Europe.
The MKU delegation, which included Dr. Mercyline Kamande, Dr. Jane Wambui Kanjuru, and Elijah Mutegi, was warmly hosted by Garri Raagmaa and Teele Luks alongside other staff members and students.

A key highlight of the visit was the engagement with MKU students pursuing a Master’s in Hospitality Management who are currently undertaking a five-month mobility programme in Estonia. The interaction provided an opportunity to support and mentor the students while appreciating their international academic exposure and experiential learning.
The visit focused on strengthening collaboration under the Erasmus+ Programme, enhancing academic exchange, research partnerships, and benchmarking best practices in hospitality and tourism education. The delegation also gained valuable industry insights through exposure to leading hospitality establishments in Estonia.

The last visit undertaken by faculty members to Estonia was also under the Erasmus+ Programme, when MKU staff and students travelled to Estonia between 19th–26th February 2023, while students remained for an extended exchange period from February to July 2023. The programme provided valuable exposure to international teaching, learning, and cultural exchange. In a reciprocal engagement that further strengthened the partnership, a delegation from Estonia visited MKU in 2024 for academic collaboration and student exchange, underscoring the growing institutional ties between the two partners.
This partnership reflects MKU’s commitment to internationalization, academic excellence, and the development of globally competitive graduates.
